The Rehoboth Beach Film Society presents its 2024-2025 season of The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD at the Cinema Art Theater located at 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Lewes. Affectionately titled, Little Met By The Sea, the fall season kicked off October 5, The next performance will be GROUNDED (Tesori) with a live premiere simulcast from NYC’s The Metropolitan Opera on Sat;, Oct 19 and Wed., Oct. 23.
This award-winning series will feature live simulcast transmissions of nine spectacular productions this season.  Since its initial broadcast in 2006 “The Met: Live in HD” has grown exponentially with classical music lovers from around the world proving opera can have a place in their local cinema theaters. It is now the largest provider of alternative cinema content in the world that reaches more than 2,000+ venues in countries across six continents.
Also screening throughout the season are: Tosca, The Magic Flute – Holiday Presentation, Aida, Fidelio, Le Nozze Di Figaro, Salome and Il Barbiere Di Saviglia.  In addition to the opera performance, the HD series features Met opera stars conducting live interviews with cast and/or various production crew members while showing behind-the-scene features.
Admission for The Met: Live in HD broadcasts is $22 for a Met member, $22 for a RBFS member, $25 general admission, $22 for Senior (65+) and $10 for Student (with ID). Customers are encouraged to purchase admission online at rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, admission can be purchased at the theater 30 minutes before the screening or by stopping into the Cinema Art Theater Box Office during business hours (Wed-Sun).
