The Cape Artists have been a presence in the Lewes, Delaware and surrounding area for over thirty years. The group was formed in 1984 after the artists met under the tutelage of well-known artist Howard Schroeder. They continued to paint together as a group after his classes ended. The Cape Artists paint together every Tuesday in Lewes and members are frequently seen painting on location throughout the area. The members share a cooperative gallery located at 110 West 3rd St. in Lewes. The gallery includes samples of original work of each artist and includes a variety of media such as watercolor, oil, acrylics, collage and mixed media. All art work exhibited is for sale. The gallery is open to the public.
