Hopkins Farm is a fifth-generation family farm located in Lewes, Delaware that has grown into one of Sussex County’s most unique agritourism destinations. In addition to its traditional crop farming operation, Hopkins Farm is home to several farm-based businesses that connect the community with local food and agriculture.  These include Hopkins Farm Creamery, known for its homemade ice cream; Smokin D’z BBQ, serving smoked barbecue; Hopkins Heartland, a scenic wedding and event venue featuring the Covered Bridge and Honey Bee barn; Heslep’s Coastal Cattle, raising high-quality local beef on the farm; and the American Center for Farming Heritage, a nonprofit focused on agricultural education and preserving farming traditions.
Opening in Summer 2026, Hopkins Market will expand the farm’s offerings with a market
featuring Delaware-grown foods and products from local farmers and makers. Together, these
enterprises create a destination where visitors can experience farming, local food, and
community on a working family farm.

The American Center for Farming Heritage at Hopkins Farm is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving agricultural heritage and educating future generations about farming. Located in Lewes, Delaware, the organization is currently fundraising to support the construction of a dedicated learning center that will provide educational programs, hands-on agricultural experiences, and community events that connect people with the history and future of farming.
