A private in-person or virtual psychiatry and psychotherapy practice, Joan has 28 years experience in prescribing psychiatric medication and psychotherapy.  She is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and a board certified clinical nurse specialist,  licensed in Delaware and Pennsylvania, she primarily works with patients aged 13 and up.

Keeping current with modern psychiatric research, she implements the best of evidence based treatment. She utilizes genetic testing with the company Genomind, which helps to delineate how the body reacts with medication. She has been using the psychotherapy of EMDR since 2003, which is the best treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma.
