AMERICAN LEGION FAMILY OF POST 17 

ANNUAL LEWES MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

MONDAY, MAY 27 2024 @ 11am

The parade will begin at approximately 11am.  Staging will be on Schley Ave, near the Lewes Board of Public Works.  From the Lewes Presbyterian Church parking lot, located at 133 Kings Highway, proceed to Savannah Road, travel over the canal toward the beach, and end at American Legion Post 17. The Parade is a Tribute to all who were lost in Service to our country and their family and friends. We will pay Tribute to the POW/MIAs with a float and a Poppy Float to symbolize the image of the crosses and Cemeteries where our soldiers lie around the world. We are hoping many Veterans from age 100 to 20 will walk with the group, or find a convertible care or ride in one of our Military Vehicles. 

A Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at approximately 1pm in the Post 17 Pavilion; all are welcome.  

Any military member now serving and ALL veterans are encouraged to participate—you may walk or ride—just smile and wave! – We gather at the Post at 9:30 am- to assign car or truck and provide Flags for Branch of Service. Wear any Uniform or your Legion or Patriotic Best.
