Back by Popular Demand…you asked, we’re answering! The Irish, Grammy Nominated Band, I DRAW SLOW, returns to Nassau Valley Vineyards on July 17th.
Fronted by brother/sister songwriting team Dave Holden (guitar/vocals) and Louise Holden (vocals), this Dublin, Ireland-based group sits squarely at the crossroads of Irish and Appalachian music and has received critical praise for an original sound that bridges the gap between traditional Irish and American roots music.
I Draw Slow has consistently redefined acoustic roots music for well over a decade. The award winning five-piece band have released four critically acclaimed albums. Their third album, Turn Your Face to The Sun, was released on Compass records in Nashville, one of the leading independent labels in the U.S., and went to number one in the Irish charts. The album was produced by Brian Masterson, whose past work with The Chieftans and Van Morrison gave him plenty of insight into the interplay between the folk music of Ireland and Appalachia to engineer an album that masterfully brings out the best of both worlds.
With the release of their fourth album, nominated for a Grammy, I Draw Slow further cements their reputation as one of the most interesting groups on the Americana/roots scene. Coaxing the past into the present, they have created a very personal sonic tapestry that has drawn fans on both sides of the pond and earned them slots on some of the most important festival stages across North America including MerleFest, Edmonton Folk Festival, Rocky Grass, Wintergrass and The Earl Scruggs Festival.
They will perform at Nassau Valley Vineyards’ Grand Cru Hall on Wednesday, July 17th from 7:00PM-9:00PM. Doors open at 6:00PM with full bar service and mobile charcuterie bar.
