This Saturday, the HLFM Fall Market opens at the Lewes Elementary School parking lot, 820 Savannah Road. The Fall Market will be open 9am to noon from October 4th through November 22nd, with a final Holiday Market on December 6th, at the Lewes Elementary School parking lot. The Fall Market celebrates the season with Apple Celebration Day, Jazz Fest, Beebe Healthcare Day, a spooky Halloween Market, Customer Appreciation Day, special Food and Essentials Drives, and more!
At the Market this Saturday, local farmers and producers will bring broccoli, apples, pears, delicata, butternut, acorn, patty pan, zephyr, and spaghetti squashes, pumpkins, decorative gourds, heirloom, hybrid, and cherry tomatoes, eggplants, napa cabbage, radicchio, white sweet potatoes, beets, green beans, radishes, turnips, arugula, kale, lettuce, microgreens, Swiss chard, sweet and hot peppers, local salt, seasonal soups, oysters, live crabs, hand-picked crabmeat, grass-fed chicken, beef, pork, mushrooms, honey, jams, freshly-laid eggs, coffee drinks, kombucha, cold-pressed juices, apple cider, fresh-baked breads, pastries made with fruit from Market farmers, apple cider donuts, gluten-free offerings, beautiful cut-flower bouquets, and much more! Customers can also pre-order their fresh, free-range Thanksgiving turkeys from Mahon River Farm.
The HLFM is unique in that it is producer-only—customers connect directly with the farmer who grew the produce and raised the animals to buy their local fruit, veggies, eggs, and meats. This Market is where the farmers are—the most farmers in any farmers market in Delmarva!
Please note that dogs and other pets (except for service animals) are not permitted inside the Market. This is to ensure the safety of customers, vendors, and volunteers.
The HLFM encourages customers that are able to bike or walk to the Market. Entrance for walkers and bikers is off Savannah Road. Parking is available in the school’s bus loop parking lot off of Sussex Drive–with coned off accessible parking spaces in the section closest to the Market. Customers may also use the Fred Thomas Middle School parking lot. Beebe Hospital also generously allows Market customers to park in its outside parking lot, and there is parking available at George H.P. Smith Park, a short walk on the path to Lewes Elementary School.
The HLFM continues its Food Pantry Purchase Program. HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community every Saturday may purchase local produce, meat, and other food directly from growers at the Market to donate to this program, or through donations at the HLFM Information tent. At the end of the Market, the produce and other foods are gathered and given to food pantries including Epworth and Casa San Francisco. The HLFM thanks its customers for their generosity.
The Market accepts SNAP, WIC, and SFMNP benefits, and continues to match SNAP up to $20 per market, per customer. Please go to the SNAP tent to process SNAP/EBT.
The HLFM thanks The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group for their continued support of the Market, especially for this special season, as 2025 HLFM Market Champion.
