Customers can also pre-order their fresh, free-range Thanksgiving turkeys from Mahon River Farm as well as holiday hams from Enoch Farms.

The HLFM is unique in that it is producer-only—customers connect directly with the farmer who grew the produce and raised the animals to buy their local fruit, veggies, eggs, and meats. This Market is where the farmers are—the most farmers in any farmers market in Delmarva!

The Market accepts SNAP, WIC, and SFMNP benefits. With the hold on SNAP benefits due to the federal government shutdown, the HLFM will provide all customers that have a SNAP card $20 of HLFM Bonus Bucks tokens to spend at the Market, without the need for SNAP customers to match with their benefits. The HLFM will offer this additional assistance starting this Saturday, November 1st through the end of our season at the Holiday Market on Saturday, December 6th. Customers can find the SNAP tent inside the Market with volunteers to process remaining SNAP/EBT benefits and give the HLFM tokens that can be used at the Market. Customers must present their SNAP card at the SNAP tent to receive the $20 of HLFM Bonus Bucks tokens. Customers can also find a list at the SNAP tent of the names, addresses, phone numbers, and hours for 17 local area food pantries that receive food from small farmers through the HLFM Farm to Community Program for additional assistance.

Please note that dogs and other pets (except for service animals) are not permitted inside the Market. This is to ensure the safety of customers, vendors, and volunteers.

The HLFM encourages customers that are able to bike or walk to the Market. Entrance for walkers and bikers is off Savannah Road. Parking is available in the school’s bus loop parking lot off of Sussex Drive–with coned off accessible parking spaces in the section closest to the Market. Customers may also use the Fred Thomas Middle School parking lot. Beebe Hospital also generously allows Market customers to park in its outside parking lot, and there is parking available at George H.P. Smith Park, a short walk on the path to Lewes Elementary School.

The HLFM continues its Food Pantry Purchase Program. HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community every Saturday may purchase local produce, meat, and other food directly from growers at the Market to donate to this program, or through donations at the HLFM Information tent. At the end of the Market, the produce and other foods are gathered and given to food pantries including Epworth and Casa San Francisco. The HLFM thanks its customers for their generosity.

Customers should mark their calendars! On Saturday, November 8th, it’s Customer Appreciation Day at the Market, so be sure to stop by the Market for a free brownie bite, apple cider, and more. Visitors are encouraged to bring donations, as well as make purchases at the Market, on November 15th and 22nd for the HLFM Annual Food and Essentials Drive. Saturday, November 22nd is also the Thanksgiving Market, and then after a Saturday off, December 6th ends the season with a special Holiday Market.

The HLFM thanks The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group for their continued support of the Market, especially for this special season, as 2025 HLFM Market Champion.
