There are only 3 weeks left to shop at the Wednesday Market! Our farmers and producers this week will bring watermelon, cantaloupe, sweet corn, slicer and cherry tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, green beans and long beans, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, patty pan squash, eggplant, shallots, lettuce, carrots, and more. You’ll also find farm-raised eggs, pork, lamb, local honey, freeze-dried produce, beautiful zinnia bunches, and lavender products to brighten your home. This week’s recipe features a refreshing Watermelon, Arugula, and Basil Salad with Spicy Honey-Lime Dressing, featuring watermelon from Cross Farms or Kalmar Farm, arugula from Dittmar Family Farms, basil from Caribe Locavore Farm, hot peppers from Cosmic Dog Farm, and honey from Carey Apiary and Farm. We hope you get to try this recipe or another delicious creation made with local ingredients from HLFM farmers and producers.
The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is unique in that it is producer-only—at this Market, customers buy directly from the farmer who grew the produce. Only vendors who grow, raise, or produce what they sell are allowed in this market. A true farmers market!
The HLFM matches SNAP benefits up to $20 per Market, per customer. You can find the SNAP tent at the HLFM tent with volunteers to process your SNAP/EBT and give you the HLFM tokens that can be used at market all season long. WIC and SFMNP benefits are also welcome at the Market.
Attention Dog Owners:
Please note that dogs and other pets (except for Service Dogs) are not permitted inside the Market. This is to ensure the safety of customers, vendors, and volunteers. This rule applies to both the Saturday and Wednesday Markets.
