Halloween at the Fall Market

Spend Halloween morning at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market this Saturday. Farmers and volunteers will be decked out in ghoulish attire and customers are encouraged to also come in costume for a fun Fall Market! Customers, volunteers, and vendors can all win an award for best costumes. There are Halloween party favors for kids at the Info Tent, and much more.

Customers looking for fresh local cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, carrots, pumpkins, ghosts, and goblins will find them all at this Saturday’s Fall Market. Market farmers are also bringing beets, autumn squash, radishes, tomatoes, cabbage, collard greens, kale, bok choy, red potatoes, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, turnips, eggplants, radicchio, mizuna, arugula, hydroponic and field lettuces, microgreens, kohlrabi, sweet and hot peppers, local salt, seasonal soups, cheese, butter, yogurt, oysters, live crabs, hand-picked crabmeat, grass-fed chicken, beef, pork, lamb, mushrooms, local honey, jams and jellies, freeze-dried local fruits and veggies, freshly-laid eggs, kombucha, cold-pressed juices, apple cider, fresh-baked breads, pastries made with fruit from Market farmers, gluten-free offerings, apple cider donuts, beautiful cut-flower bouquets, pumpkin centerpieces, and much more! Customers can also pre-order their fresh, free-range Thanksgiving turkeys from Mahon River Farm as well as holiday hams from Enoch Farms.

The HLFM is unique in that it is producer-only—customers connect directly with the farmer who grew the produce and raised the animals to buy their local fruit, veggies, eggs, and meats. This Market is where the farmers are—the most farmers in any farmers market in the Delmarva!

Please note that dogs and other pets (except for service animals) are not permitted inside the Market. This is to ensure the safety of customers, vendors, and volunteers.

The Market accepts SNAP, WIC, and SFMNP benefits, and continues to match SNAP up to $20 per market, per customer. Please go to the SNAP tent to process SNAP/EBT.

The HLFM continues its Food Pantry Purchase Program. HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community every Saturday may purchase local produce, meat, and other food directly from growers at the Market to donate to this program, or through donations at the HLFM Information Tent. At the end of the Market, the produce and other foods are gathered and given to food pantries including Epworth and Casa San Francisco. The HLFM thanks its customers for their generosity.

The HLFM encourages customers that are able to bike or walk to the Market. Entrance for walkers and bikers is off Savannah Road. Parking is available in the school’s bus loop parking lot off of Sussex Drive–with coned off accessible parking spaces in the section closest to the Market. Customers may also use the Fred Thomas Middle School parking lot. Beebe Hospital also generously allows Market customers to park in its outside parking lot, and there is parking available at George H.P. Smith Park, a short walk on the path to Lewes Elementary School.

Customers should mark their calendars: the Historic Lewes Farmers Market has a great lineup of Saturday Fall events not to be missed! It’s Customer Appreciation Day on November 7th, so be sure to stop by the Market for a free brownie bite and apple cider. Visitors are encouraged to bring donations, as well as make purchases at the Market, on November 21st and 28th for the HLFM Annual Food and Essentials Drive. And December 5th ends the season with a special Holiday Market and our $20 for Plenty fresh food drive.

The HLFM thanks The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group, 2026 HLFM Market Champion, for their continued support of the Market and shared passion for promoting the businesses of local farmers and making fresh, nutritious food accessible to all in our community.
