AT THE REHOBOTH BEACH ARTS FESTIVAL IN GROVE PARK
REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – The Rehoboth Art League and the City of Rehoboth Beach have partnered to produce the city’s arts festival on Saturday, May 18, from 10am – 5pm. Based in downtown’s picturesque Grove Park, artists will showcase and sell their work, giving visitors the opportunity to buy original pieces and mingle with their creators.
Known for its annual events that draw discerning local collectors, as well as those vacationing from the Baltimore/Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and New York City area, the Rehoboth Art League is proud to present this event as another way to bring creative minds to coastal Delaware. Held just prior to Memorial Day weekend—the unofficial start of summer for this beach town—the event will fill Grove Park with tents of original, quality artwork. Please note, parking meters and side-street permits are in effect in Rehoboth as of May 15.
Artists featured in this event are members of the art league and have been juried into the show based on their respective mediums. Each artist will have their own booth along the pathways of Grove Park to discuss their creative process and have their work available for sale. Sales transactions will be completed with individual artists. Visit rehobothartleague.org for the complete list of juried artists.
Event artist Stephen Brehm has donated an original oil painting, “Waves from a Distant Storm,” to the Rehoboth Art League to help raise funds to support our education and exhibition programs. Buy a raffle ticket for $5 per ticket (or five tickets for $20) for a chance to win this $3,200 painting! Tickets may be purchased at the event’s membership tent or at the front desk of the Corkran Gallery. The drawing will take place at end-of-day on May 18.
There is no event-designated parking for the Rehoboth Beach Arts Festival. Parking meters will be in effect as of May 15. Grove Park is adjacent to the area’s bike trail and is also accessible by water, at Rehoboth Beach’s public dock, just behind Rehoboth Beach Museum.
The event is free and open to everyone, and the event will go forward rain or shine. The event is sponsored by Dogfish Head and WSFS Bank, Bella Terra Landscapes & Garden Center, Brighton Suites Hotes, Community Bank Delaware, The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group, The Insurance Market, and Big Fish Charitable Foundation.
The Rehoboth Art League is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
