Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park Photo Contest : “CAPTURING the CAPE” — June 22 – July 29
Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park
Launch Inaugural “Capturing the Cape” Photo Contest
The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park (FOCHSP), in partnership with Cape Henlopen State Park, the Coastal Camera Club (CCC),
and Nations Photo Lab, is thrilled to announce the launch of the first annual “Capturing the Cape” Digital Photo Contest.
Open to photographers of all experience levels, this exciting new contest invites participants to share their
unique vision of Cape Henlopen State Park. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or someone who
simply enjoys taking pictures during a walk, bike ride, or beach day, this is your chance to celebrate and
showcase the beauty, wildlife, and natural spirit of one of Delaware’s most beloved coastal parks.
Photographers may submit digital photographs that fit into one of three categories: Park Wildlife, Scenic &
Landscape, or Flora & Fauna. Submissions will be judged, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three
winners in each category. First-place winners will receive $100, second-place winners will receive $50,
and third-place winners will receive $25.
Winning photographs will be professionally printed by Nations Photo Lab and unveiled during a special
awards ceremony in August 2025 at the Biden Environmental Center in Cape Henlopen State Park.
In addition to being recognized at the ceremony, the winning images will be exhibited throughout Lewes in fall
2025, providing a meaningful opportunity for photographers to share their work with the community.
The contest opens on Sunday, June 22, and entries will be accepted through Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at
11:59 PM EDT. All submissions must be digital photographs taken within Cape Henlopen State Park and must
comply with Delaware State Parks rules and regulations. Photos may be taken at any time—past or present.
The contest is open to everyone, including FOCHSP and CCC members, local residents, and park visitors.
However, individuals directly involved in organizing or judging the contest are not eligible to participate.
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
Entries must be submitted through the official contest website at https://www.enterin.io/fochsp.
Full contest rules and guidelines are also available on the site.
We’re incredibly excited about this new creative endeavor and deeply thankful for the support and
collaboration of our partners—Cape Henlopen State Park, the Coastal Camera Club, and
Nations Photo Lab—whose involvement has made this contest possible.
