What’s Fresh at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market
Our thirty-six local farmers and producers will bring the first cantaloupe and seedless watermelons of the season, along with multiple summer varieties of tomatoes, peaches, eggplant, peppers, and squash. Customers will also find blackberries and raspberries, potatoes, sweet corn, green beans and pole beans, carrots, radishes, beets, arugula, Swiss chard, kale, and cabbage. The best local oysters, live crabs and hand-picked crab meat, freshly laid eggs, chicken, turkey, beef, pork, lamb, and even duck can be found at the Market this Saturday. Customers can finish off their shopping lists with honey, jams, mushrooms, A-2 milk, yogurt, butter, ice cream treats, fresh coffee drinks, kombucha, cold-pressed juices, fresh-baked breads, cakes, cookies, pies, and pastries—including vegan and gluten-free selections—made with fruit from vendors at the Market.
The HLFM is unique in that it is producer-only—customers connect directly with the farmer who grew the produce and raised the animals to buy their local fruit, veggies, eggs, dairy, and meats. This Market is where the farmers are—the most farmers in any farmers market in the Delmarva!

Henry Bennett and Chef Dru Tevis Demo at 10am
a group of people standing around a table filled with food
At 10 am  in the Demo tent, the Market presents duo Henry Bennett of Bennett Orchards and Dru Tevis, Southern Delaware Brewing Corporate Chef, voted 2024 Delaware Today’s Best Desserts, and winner of the national Food Network Holiday Baking Championship. Henry Bennett, a sixth-generation farmer, will talk about what it takes to grow Bennett Peaches. Located in an Agricultural Preservation District, Bennett Orchards is recognized as one of the First State’s Century Farms. Then Chef Dru Tevis will take those Bennett peaches and make a fabulous peachy recipe—peach parfaits with vanilla rice pudding. This is always a customer favorite Market Demonstration, and a tasting not to be missed!
