From Sept. 2-6, 2025, the Zwaanendael Museum in Lewes will host a week-long food drive in honor of National Food Bank Day. National Food Bank Day, held on Sept. 5 this year, is dedicated to raising awareness about food insecurity and how important food banks are to the local community.
During the week of Sept. 2-6, visitors to the Zwaanendael Museum are encouraged to bring a canned good with them. Donations may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. All items will be donated to the Food Bank of Delaware.
Some of the Food Banks’ most needed items are peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, rice and pasta. Review the complete list of requested items by visiting the Food Bank of Delaware’s website at www.fbd.org.
